A Polaris Sportsman 500 may backfire and blow off the carburetor due to several issues, including a lean fuel mixture, improper ignition timing, or a malfunctioning carburetor. This can lead to excessive pressure in the intake system, causing the carburetor to become dislodged. Additionally, worn or damaged gaskets and seals can exacerbate the problem by allowing air leaks. Regular maintenance and tuning can help prevent these issues.
Yes.
You use a crowbar and screw driver and smack it with a hammer. You could use a sliding hammer but I couldn't get it to stay on. Once you have popped one out use a punch to blow the other one out.
Running too rich, timing off. Search your engine and "backfire"
Put the Bypass Valve back on!
It can cause massive Engine failure and blow up the whole car, so be careful.
Black smoke is : too much fuel and not enough air, a faulty injector (s). Take out the injectors and have them tested before you do engine damage.
Polaris on some of their machines used the battery as a voltage limiter , and if you ran the machine for a prolonged time with a bad battery it would blow the headlight bulbs .The good news is you can buy them at walmart . Just take one out and go match it up .
Blood magic is NOT something to dabble with. I do not recommend that you tie yourself and your life to a curse, they tend to backfire or blow up in your face. Beware the Rule of Three.
PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) is what you want. If you run a straight hose and have a backfire situation you could blow the valve covers right off the engine. I have seen this.
pull it behind a faster quad while having the throttle pinned. over-rev the motor and blow it up. then without the drag from your motor, you'll go much much faster :)
becauce the muffler is (was) stopped up. If you switch of your ignition while driveing at speed, their is no spark to the plugs and the raw fuel wont explode till it gets to the hot muffler, many times this will damage your muffler, and creates a very loud backfire!
