The bolt shaft is threader at the wrong hand
The starter but bolts must be reach first remove intake manifold. Drop shaft exhaust loosen transmission Braves and tilt down transmission slightly to access starter from back. Replace starter and return closures.
A jackshaft is an assembly that connects the starter shaft/spline to the starting gear. When the starter button is pushed a pinion gear (part of the jackshaft assy.) engages the starter gear spinning the starter gear.
When you hit the starter button the starter relay send power to the starter. the starter solenoid pushes the starter shaft outward and the starter turns. When the solenoid moves the shaft it is connected to the jackshaft which ingages the starter gear on the clutch
With the proper tools and the correct torque.
Replace Remove starter Remove solenoid at top of starter Remove front end of starter for access Remove locking washer from starter shaft Drive should slide off shaft

THE STARTER SITS RIGHT ABOVE THE POINT WHERE THE DRIVER SIDE HALF SHAFT CV AXLE ENTERS THE TRANSMISSION. YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE HALF SHAFT TO GET IT OUT.

You have to remove the steering intermediate shaft and remove the starter from the top.
It is bolted in the side of the block BEHIND the starter. You will have to REMOVE the starter.
