The deck must be slipped beneath the machine from the left, the lift lever locked down and the rear hangers and front hanger plate attached. The belt will take take a 90 degree twist with the front part to the left side.
To change the mower deck on a John Deere 214, first, ensure the mower is turned off and the key is removed. Raise the deck to its highest position and disconnect the drive belt by removing the belt from the pulley. Next, detach the deck by removing the pins or bolts that secure it to the tractor and carefully lower it down. Finally, install the new deck by reversing the process, ensuring all connections are secure before testing the mower.

Write down the serial number which should be printed on a serial number tag somewhere on the mower. Take the number to your local John Deere dealer and they should be able to tell you what year your mower was produced.
I will put a link to the Deere deck page below. Just scroll down to the L Series 48"
You can download a wiring diagram for the John Deere 325 mower from the official John Deere website by visiting their parts catalog section. Additionally, websites like ManualsLib or other online forums dedicated to lawn equipment may have PDF manuals available for download. Be sure to search using the model number for accurate results.
You first need to set the mower deck setting at high noon to read "blank". More or less between the 1" and 3.5" setting. Then pull deck release arm to allow for the deck to drop to the ground. Once locked into the down position, you need to release the U locks(that are spring loaded) located on the back half, and on both sides of the mower deck. This will allow for the arms that you have unlocked to be retracted up for clearance later. After that you must release the tension bar for the belt pulleys located on top of mower deck, left hand side, and remove the belt connected to the engine pulley located towards the front. After that, you must unlatch the front U-bar from the mower deck. After this is completed. Pull the mower Deck ARM back up, to the position normal for traveling. This will give you clearance to slide the mower deck out from the right side (chute side).
1. release the tension rod on the left side of the deck and swing it outward 2.on front left axle pull lever out that keeps tension on the u shaped draft bar that hooks into the front of deck and swing it down towards you 3. pull out spring loaded j hooks on each side of rear deck 4. once hooks are released deck will come down, then slide deck out of the discharge side of mower, turning whells to make it easier
alot of work but if your willing ill tell u first remove the belt from tensoiners then remove cotter pins and mover bars the ones that look like bars the back is bolted remove bolts and it should drop down
if you are sitting in the seat and looking down at the deck the blades will or should be turning clockwise, although in this position you cannot actually see the blades. pay attention when installing the blades not to turn them upside down. the cutting edge should be turninh clockwise on all blades.
No John Deere break down all of the time where i work they have John Deere and it seems like they spend more time in the mechanic then being used for work
To drop the deck on a Toro mower, first, ensure the mower is on a flat surface and the engine is off. Locate the deck lift lever, which is typically on the right side of the operator's seat. Pull the lever up or push it down, depending on your model, to lower the deck to your desired height. Always check the owner's manual for specific instructions related to your Toro mower model.
