If your Yamaha Razz runs only on choke but dies when the choke is off, it likely indicates a problem with the fuel mixture or the carburetor. When the choke is engaged, it enriches the fuel-air mix, compensating for a lean condition caused by issues such as clogged jets, dirty air filters, or vacuum leaks. Cleaning the carburetor and ensuring proper air and fuel flow should help resolve the issue. Additionally, checking for any blockages in the fuel line can also be beneficial.
If it runs with the choke on, and then- just won't with the choke off,, gas flow is restricted..
Try cleaning you carburator, check your fuel filter, your float, could be any of these.
When you say the engine will turn over only when in choke, I assume you mean it runs while chokedand then dies when you let off the choke. Check the fuel filter, the air filter, makecarburetor adjustments if necessary and ultimately, checkthe throttle linkage.
If this is a carbureted engine, it could be a problem with the fuel draining back out of the bowls, or perhaps the choke not operating properly.
Check the choke throttle and linkage for binding that won't allow the choke baffle to close partially when you let off the gas. A good carburetor cleaner will dislodge any gunk or goop - follow the instructions on the can.
A Jeep Grand Cherokee that starts and dies might have a problem with the choke. Depending on how new the vehicle is, there might be a sensor for the choke that is not working properly.
clean the carb
side stand switch it thinks youre kickstand is down you need to disable it or replace it
Clean your carburetor's main circuit. Your carburetor contains two "circuits." One is the main circuit, and it puts gas into the engine with the "choke" off. The other is the enrichment circuit, which puts more gas into the engine because a cold engine needs a richer fuel/air mixture than a warm one. If your engine only runs with the choke on, that means no gas is coming in via the main circuit, which means it's clogged. Clean that out good and it should fix the problem.
If it runs with the choke on, Then it will not do any good to adjust them. It is running lean/ not getting fuel. The carburetors have dirt in the fuel jets and that is why it won't run when choke is off. When choke is on that richins the fuel up and it try's to run. Need to clean the carbs out.
check the roder and cap you might hit the gas and it will flood the car because you dont have the spark that you need mine did the same thing as it turns out the choke spring was broken. put a new choke assy in it for 15 bucks runs like a top now.
