Honda transmission fluid is specifically formulated by Honda for the transmission they designed and built. Using any other fluid will cause rough shifts. That is why you should only use genuine Honda fluid.
Using any other fluid other than genuine Honda fluid or a fluid that meets the exact requirements of Honda fluid will cause rough or harsh shifts.
Use nothing but genuine Honda ATF DW-1. Do not use any fluid that claims to be a substitute or you will have rough shifts.

It depends on your tendency and preference.Smooth finishing is good in that it makes cleaning easier but it increases the risk of slipping.However, rough finishing is better to avoid slipping but it makes cleaning not so easy.
