Multipartism in Africa is primarily driven by factors such as the desire for political pluralism, the quest for representation of diverse ethnic and social groups, and the push for democratization following decades of authoritarian rule. The end of the Cold War also encouraged many African nations to adopt multiparty systems as a response to international pressure for democratic governance. Additionally, the rise of civil society and increased political awareness among citizens have contributed to the demand for more political options and accountability.
The Cold War was between western nations and the eastern bloc. Africa is a continent so to give a better answer you need to ask about a particular nation.

Because of the cold war, both superpowers saught after countries they could influence towards their ideology This caused more hostality between the nations in Africa. Also, both superpowers used poor African countries to sell their outdated weapons for profit, causing a huge amount of simple yet lethal weapons to flow into Africa. The US also used and still does use Africa as a waste dump, this however is not as much related to the cold war but the fact remains.

The term "Second World" originally referred to communist and socialist countries during the Cold War, primarily in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. In the context of Africa, the classification is less common, as many African nations are often categorized as "developing" or "low-income" countries. However, some nations like South Africa and Botswana are sometimes viewed as more developed compared to their neighbors, but they do not fit neatly into the Second World category. Overall, Africa's classification is more nuanced and typically focuses on economic development rather than Cold War-era terms.
