Well,
First, start off with an attack that's a Fighting or Bug type.
Second, use a low power Ghost or Dark type.
Third, when it is very low life (about a 1mm of red) use Thunder Wave or Yawn
Fourth, when it is Parylzed or Asleep start chucking whatever pokeballs you have (I recommend Dusk Balls or Ultra Balls. If you have a Master Ball this would be a great chance to use it).
P.S. Darkrai is a Dark type so Phychic moves won't effect it. If you have any battle strategies apart from strenghs and weakness' that would be ok. Save your game before you battle it and if your stupid enough to kill it for a large amount of EXP on purpose... YOU'RE AN IDEOT!

you cant save in the middle of the battle...... and if u do save where darkrai is NO u will not mess up your game... u will just restart from where u saved... normally.....

Just follow the road, don't leave the island, and you will reach a special room in the island. In that room, the legendary Pokemon Darkrai will be waiting to battle you. You will encounter Darkrai in level 40 but... Darkrai's capture rate is 3%, which means that you'll have a hard time catching it. If you have a Master Ball, there's no problem! the reason it has a problem is this: you have 493 master balls. to catch what you want, well heres the instructions: find the pokemons # (ill do darkrai) then you throw away the # of master balls to make the pkmns # (i throw away 1) hold down L and go into the grass ( i see a darkrai) to regain master balls, hold L + R
