South Africa has a big agricultural sector. There is a lot of subsistence farming by poor people and there is a lot of bigger commercial farms producing produce like tropical and temperate climate fruit, wheat, maize, sugar, timber, sunflowers, slaughter cattle, dairy cattle, sheep for wool and slaughter, chickens for eggs and slaughter, game farming, flower farming, vegetable farming, tea, coffee, rooibos tea, crocodiles for skins, etc.

There is one quite interesting one. South Africa has the largest number of Lion farmers in the world. The farmers raise Lions in captivity for the tourist trade and for the hunting trade.
