Yes, there are. You may have to spend some time looking, though. There aren't that many drive-ins left, but many movie theaters (and remaining drive-ins) do special midnight showings of 70s and 80s films, and some do weekend showings or other events. Your best best bet would be to check the websites and social media accounts of your favorite theaters in your area and sign up for their email alerts. You can also, of course, call them and ask if they ever offer such viewings.
Some horror movies might be inspired by true events; it all depends on the movie. But all horror movies are just movies, they are fake.
You can still find them. In the summer I always go to Cape Cod and we go to drive in movies all the time. They have made movie theaters. This is more convenient and you can see them night or day. They are around everywhere and show more than one movie. They also serve more beverages. Movie theaters have pushed away Drive in movies to make room for them. You can still find them though.
There is no 'rule' about who can get killed in a horror movie.

Most movie theaters open around 10 am. Movies that play that early in the morning are often less expensive.

In the USA there are drive-in movie theaters. They are not so popular as they once were but some still remain.
