I personally don't think that parents should take there kids things. I don't think that it does anyone good. It could be worth a lot of money and people could take it and throw it away, and were did all your money just go? When you take things from your kids it is like steeling from someone else especially when it is something that you didn't buy, and what the kid saved up for. It is also not that fun for the kid to be sitting in the room with nothing to do, and the parents have to listen to them yell and scream that they are bored, so I don't think that you should take things from your kids.

If you are a minor, then yes, otherwise no. If you don't want your stuff thrown away so badly, then just dig it out of the trashcan and hide it in a better spot. Keep your stuff locked up if you don't want people to go through it, I hide all of my stuff so that my parents can't go through it without my knowning, plus I memorize every detail of my stuff's arrangement, which you should consider to keep them from being so sneaky.
