No, it is not legal for a minor to drink alcohol even if their parents give them the alcohol, but some parents feel the odd bit of alcohol for teens from 16 up is better than them sneaking the alcohol. Generally no charges are laid against the parents if they give a bit of alcohol to their mid-teen son or daughter.
Not specifically familiar with TN law, but I can tell you that any other place I'm aware of, the parents or guardians of the drinking minor could be charged with either "Child Neglect" or "Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor."
Sure
16 with parental guidance. Of course you can drink without a parent there, but you can get in trouble by the law if you get caught. You have to have permission before you do it. To all the 16 year old kids out there, i wish you luck.
It is not illegal for a minor to consume alcohol, but it is illegal to sell alcohol to a minor. It is illegal for a minor to be supplied with alcohol unless it is by a parent or legal guardian and it is to be drunk at a private gathering. It is also illegal for a minor to have or to drink alcohol in a public place unless they are with a parent or legal guardian. The reason New Zealand law allows this drinking by minors, is that the parents or legal guardians are deemed to be responsible for the minors.
Yes but strictly with their parents permission

It's the parents choice not the law what are they gonna do anyway it's on your own property .
No, in California it is illegal for a minor to consume alcohol even with parental permission on home property. California's alcohol laws prohibit individuals under the age of 21 from possessing or consuming alcohol in any circumstance, including at home with parental consent.
Whether you can drink alcohol with your parents' permission depends on the laws of your country or state. In some places, minors may legally consume alcohol at home under parental supervision, while in others, it is strictly prohibited regardless of parental consent. It's essential to be aware of and respect local laws regarding alcohol consumption. Always prioritize safety and responsible drinking.

I have same problem. In this state (NY) we decide to punish rather than help. We pleaded with the courts to help us help our 20 year old son with 2 DWI's, but no help or referrals. What is this country terming into?
