No. There have been completely non-metallic firearms created, but they fire a non-standard plastic bullet. One such gun was created by the CIA, and probably inspired the story line of that movie. But it made an interesting movie plot. It is also a violation of federal law to manufacture a firearm that cannot be detected by existing security systems.

Some have been made which have been able to fire rounds intended for unlocked breech pistols (e.g., .22 LR, .32 ACP, .380 ACP), but firing the .44 Magnum rounds he used would blast that thing to pieces in reality.

What is the gun sling called where the gun drapes across the chest?

It is called a bandellero. what the previous answerer was thinking of was a bandolier, which holds ammunition. A similar strap that holds a larger gun like a rifle or shotgun is simply called a sling. What you're looking for is probably a CQD sling or a Tactical sling. If its a holster where a pistol rests on the hip but the strap goes over the shoulder, its sometimes called a baldric. If the strap goes across the chest and the pistol is under the arm its called a shoulder holster. I think that one of those should cover it.
