No. You have remember that "support" is what the (usually) father pays the mother for the upkeep of the child. If the child moves out, the mother is no longer supporting the child and the father no longer needs to pay her.

Does the father have to pay child support if the child lives on their own in Mississippi?

A minor child should not be living on their own. If the child has been legally emancipated the parent may be excused from paying child support. Otherwise, they will be assessed if the custodial parent files a petition for child support with the court. At that time the fact of the child living on their own can be brought to the attention of the court.A minor child should not be living on their own. What is the definition of child support?

Generally, in a divorce when one parent is awarded the custody of the children, the other parent is ordered to pay child support so the child can share in the standard of living of both parents. It is the amount of money the non custodial parent must pay to help meet the expenses associated with raising their child on a daily basis. When determining the amount of child support, the courts must consider the state child support guidelines, the parents' income and earning capacity and the amount of time the children spend with either parent. Child support must be paid until the child is 18 years of age. If the child is living with the receiving parent and is in high school, child support will end when the child completes 19 years of age or graduates whichever occurs first.

Child support in Ohio usually continues until the child is 18, and up to the age of 21 if the child is in school. Whether or not you have to pay child support if the child is living with the noncustodial parent depends on the support order that it is in place Typically you can expect that you will have to expect to pay support.

If you are a non-custodial parent living with the custodial parent as well as your child for about a year now do you have any rights in regards of child support?

I take it you want to terminate your child support, and you should be able to do so. However, you will need to go to court to get this done.

In Texas can you file child support on yourself?

No. If you are under 18 and not graduated from high school, you should live with either of your parents. If you attempt to file child support for yourself, the court can make you live with the parent that you request child support from, if you are not already living with your custodial parent.

In the state of Texas if you are seventeen and your parent is receiving child support does the child have to live at home for parent to continue child support?

Yes. Child support is for the "custodial parent". If you are not living at home with your custodial parent, then they are no longer eligible to receive child support. However, the non-custodial parent can request a modification if the child is no longer living with the custodial parent and that includes a change of custody. A 17 yr old is not emancipated in Texas, unless proper procedures through the courts have taken place. If that is the case, then the custodial parent and child are no longer eligible for child support.

Can you collect child support if your child is not living with you?

In most cases the parent who has the child doesn't have to pay child support. The parent who does not have the child pays child support if they want visitation rights. In most jurisdictions, the non custodial parent must pay child support even without visitation rights.

Does cost of living factor in when deciding child support amount?

When states determine the amount of child support a parent must pay they do not necessarily factor in the cost of living. The basis for support is determined primarily of the needs of the child, the income of each parent, the ability for the non-custodial parent to pay and the standard of living the child was accustomed to prior to the divorce or separation.

Why do you have to pay child support and pay for your child to go away to college?

If you were still living with the other parent, you'd be helping to support the child through that period as more than likely the child will be unable to support themselves. Living apart from the other parent does not absolve you of that responsibility towards your child.
