Karen dated a number of well-known men including Mike Curb, Tony Danza, Mark Harmon, Steve Martin and Alan Osmond. The songwriter Tom Bahler wrote the song "She's Out of My Life" (which eventually became a hit single for Michael Jackson) after she broke up with him because she discovered that he had fathered a child with a married woman. After a whirlwind romance, Karen married real estate developer Thomas James Burris on August 31, 1980 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the Crystal Room. A new song performed by Karen at the ceremony, "Because We Are In Love," was released in 1981. The couple went to Bora Bora for their honeymoon. Karen called her family from the island and described it as "Boring Boring." The marriage was not a happy one, and the couple filed for divorce in November 1981.

Steven Spielberg was deeply influenced by his parents who were indirectly affected by the Holocaust and who told their children stories about it. Spielberg wanted to pass along Schindler's compelling story. He did not see his film as entertainment but as a story that needed to be told. You can hear Spielberg talking about his reasons for filming at the video at the related link.More DetailThe story of the making of the film pre-dates Spielberg's involvment by over ten years. Spielberg had been asked to make the film in the eighties, but he did not feel ready as he did not feel established enough. Even though he was responsible for many of the most sucessful films to date, this film would become a 'passion project' for him.Spielberg needed to pick the right time to make the film, and with the (National) US Holocaust Memorial Museum due to open in 1993, and Holocaust awareness in the US being at an all time low, Spielberg picked this time to attach himself to the project. The film needed to reach as wide an audience as possible, this explains why Spielberg chose to change parts of the story, to make it more entertaining, or to amalgamate many people into one character (Itzack Stern) so that the audience could more easily identify with him and follow the story Spielberg felt was the most important story to tell. The movie was made to educate people, to entertain people and to make money (over 1200% profit).
It was changed from a 2015 release date to December 2016 however in March 2016 screenwriter Anthony Horowitz says his script was scrapped & he wasn't sure the sequel was even being made. Supposedly [as of March 2016] Peter Jackson is still attached to direct but he wants to complete two other projects first. After two years of no news, on March 23rd 2018, it was reported that Steven Spielberg told Premiere the Tintin sequel is not dead & Peter Jackson is still interested in directing but if it happens we won't see it completed for three additional years. Spielberg confirmed there wasn't even a script and gave no start date for the writing of one other than "soon", so bottom line, don't hold your breath for a sequel.
The movie has a release date of July 24, 1998 .
