Did Naruto's father and Sasuke's father have the same rivalry as their sons Naruto and Sasuke?

That question is in the state of unknown and cannot be answered. The Uzumaki clan and the Uchiha clan may not be rivals because they have never talked about each other so there is a 90% chance that they are not rivals.

As stated above, that is unknown. We need to wait and see what Masashi Kishimoto says before we can have a true answer. But Naruto's father - Minato - wasn't part of the Uzumaki clan. He was part of the Namikaze clan. Naruto took his mother's name, because I don't think people wanted him to find out who his father was, for his own safety. I think I heard somewhere though that the Namikaze clan were once a big part of Konoha- So were the Uchiha, but I'm not sure if that's true. In any case, it is possible. Also I believe that the Sasuke's dad and Naruto's dad were rivals because... 1. They probably did not even know each other since they didn't have the same sensei. I am not sure but I believe that his sensei was Jiraiya. And...2. I don't think they are in the same age group because Naruto is the Yondaime/4th Hokage's first child and he is only a teenager and Sasuke's dad's first child was Itachi and now he is almost an adult. Also Itachi had killed his entire Uchiha clan apart from himself and Sasuke.

Sasuke now wants his revenge!!!!!
