One boat went back to Titanic under 5th officer Lowe. He waited 1 hour while he transfered passengers to other boats to make room and waited for some of the people to die so he boat was not swamped. When his boat returned he found alot of dead bodies about 5 survivors who he pulled from the water and the overturned collapsible B with 2ed officer Lightoller on it.
He was afraid the Titanic might sink because of the icebergs
The Titanic didn't have enough lifeboats. It had only 20 lifeboats and it was only enough for half of the maximum capacity of passengers and crew, which was 2,435 passengers and 892 crew members. The 20 lifeboats could've only held 1,178 people, but some of the boats were only launched half-full since the crew members thought that too much weight would cause the lifeboats to swamp, or sink
just over 1/8 of the life boats sank
it wasnt it actually was considered unsinkable a person did predict that the titanic is going to sink. a ship called the titan sink 14 years earlier In the shipping journals of the day Titanic was described as virtually unsinkable but the press felt that unsinkable sounded so much better. The number of lifeboats provided was also considered since in the event of a major disaster there would be other ships nearby and the lifeboats would merely provide a shuttle service transferring passengers and crew to safety. This does seem to indicate that the White Star Line might not be certain of her unsinkable status.
This is more of a random fact, but the reason why there weren't enough boats on the Titanic was because a few years before a boat had sunk and there were too many life boats, so the designers only outfitted life boats on the Titanic for decoration more than anything else, as they thought it would never sink. The Titanic was designed to hold 32 lifeboats, it was eventually paired down to twenty. Lifeboat number 6 was designed to hold 65 people. For more info visit the link below.

Yes, all used lifeboats were used on Titanic. This made her unique because she is the only major vessel to sink after having discharged all of her lifeboats. That certainly did not happen for Lusitania, Britannic, the Costa Concordia or anything else.
They did not expect the Titanic to sink. They did not expect the Titanic to hit an iceberg either. There were lifeboats and life jackets for a minor emergency, but not a major one.
Yes because they didn't think the Titanic would ever sink and that the sufficient amount of lifeboats would make the deck too cluttered. The people of the White Star Line were more concerned about appearance than about safety

There wasn't enough lifeboats, adn also most of the staff (crew) left very early when it started to sink.
The Titanic sank after a collision with an iceberg opened a longer than expected crack in the hull below the water line, flooding too many of the water tight compartments for the ship to remain afloat. The shortage of lifeboats was part of the reason so many people died.

Titanic sunk in early-Spring (mid-April).

Most of the people would have survived if they had more lifeboats, and didn't shut the water-tight doors. Not shutting the doors would let the water balance out and not sink one side so that it wouldn't break the titanic in half, and even if that wouldn't work, they would have saved a lot of people if they had more lifeboats.
Titanic did not sink in any harbour, she was lost in the ocean.
