Ancient Egyptians Called Nile river as "Yaam" and "Bahr", Because, Nile river is so big.
So, Muslim can say Musa(Peace be upon him) crossed River(Nile river) or Sea.
And You can find Yaam means river in the Quran. [Quraan 20:37~39] And Pharoah was died in the "Yaam" [Quraan 28:40]
