a passport for every individual in the car.
Yes, as long as you do not arrive on an airplane. You can use a U.S. Passport Card to enter Canada on foot, by car, train, boat, etc.
...by car, bus, train, plane, horseback, cross-country skiing. Just make sure you have a passport.
Yes, in some cases. Many US customs agents only ask for U.S. identification, if you're driving or walking across the border. Since a passport is only ever issued to a citizen, an expired passport would be rebuttable proof of citizenship, which is better than having a driver's license (which can be obtained by a resident alien, in some states).
I'm Canadian, and yes, it's adviseable to not only have your passport, but birth certificate and anyone else who is traveling with you (including children) should as well. We have to do the same thing going across to the States and it doesn't really bother us at all. Legally you can cross into Canada from the US with just proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or naturalization papers. A passport will be required for all US citizens after Dec. 31, 2007. You should also have proof of US citizenship for all children, and written permission if they are not accompanied by both parents. A driver's license and social security card or other picture ID is NOT proof of citizenship. By all means, if you have a passport, take it.
If you are goning to Mexico or Canada you need a passport.

The Canadian passport rules have changed since June 2009, psecially if you are travelling from the US, beofre you only needed your passport if you were travelling by plane. If travelling by boat or car then you only needed a picture ID. But now this part of the old rules have changed, if you are crossing the border by land or sea you will now require a passport or a passport card. The measure was due to come in force in 2008 but was applied since 2009. Increased security issues are to blame.
no... whenever you travle by car you do not need a passport.
you need a tourist visa, because you are still a citizen of India and not canada.

No, you need one to get in and out of the country though. You might need one if you fly within the UK but you dont need one when going between England, Wales and Scotland by car. However, whether you technically "need" it or not, the US Department of State does recommend you keep your passport with you at all times when travelling abroad.
You need a banana and toothpaste
Just your passport, and your drivers licence (as you will still be operating a motor vehicle on US roadways).
you need a passport for anytime you are leaving the US--whether on a plane or in a car. If you are in doubt, check: tss.gov for more info
After the western hemisphere travel initiative, all people arriving in Canada by air must have a valid passport. In theory a Mexican or US citizen can travel by car and on a driver's license into Canada including Newfoundland. See related link fro more information.
