No, why can't you people get it through your heads you can't kill a legendary Horror icon. They'll just keep adding sequeals until we're sick of it and then throw something like Freddy vs Jason at us and cross two sucessful villians. Even at the end of that ovie they stil hads the guts to make Freddy's beheaded head wink and laugh at us.

∙ 14y agoSimple: they changed the rules in the sequels. This is one of the reasons Wes Craven quit working on the first sequel (Freddy's Revenge). He did not like the idea of Freddy being able to kill people in the waking world. He also did not like the idea of Freddy tricking the lead character into committing the crimes for him. And finally, he never wanted Nightmare on Elm Street to become a continuing franchise, like the Halloween and Friday the 13th movies.
However, Freddy does appear in the waking world in the original Nightmare on Elm Street. At the end of the film, the main character (Nancy) manages to drag Kruger out of the dream world and into the real world.
