Yes, During the 'Ultimate Weapon' arc (plus/minus episode 216-220 [which is the Naruto fillers that are not related to the original story a.k.a Naruto manga]. During these episodes the sand village took on Konoha (leaf village)-ninja academy training style/method, the 'sand siblings' being the senseis/instructors. None of the students were brave enough to choose Gaara as their teacher, except for Matsuri etc.
Surprisingly enough she is not only shown in the fillers; She eventually made an appearance in the manga (chapter 280 [part two]) and in part two of Naruto (Naruto Shippuden) during the 'Rescue Gaara arc'.
