It is indeed possible that ragweed could grow in South Africa if someone brought it into the country either by accident or otherwise. Its growth would depend upon the region as it tends to be found in temperate climate zones of which there are a few in South Africa that mimic same at least for part of the year.....i.e. areas of The Free State and KZN (Howick)
