While there is a lot of fans of the pairing of Toshiro and Momo in the Bleach fandom, simply saying that there is a lot of fanwork based around this does not construe that the pairing will likely be there. In various fandoms, there are pairings that are popular that are not canon. So, let's look at the possible evidence of them being a pairing, or not being a pairing.1.) Toshiro protects Momo. The problems with this is, protecting someone does not mean someone has romantic feelings for them. The theme of Bleach is protecting those one cares about, not to mention, in Japan, it is the duty of a person to protect their family.2.) Toshiro and Momo grew up together. Some fans like to simply say, they were childhood friends, when in fact, the two did grow up in the same house. It is lost in translation for the English version, but in Diamond Dust Rebellion, when Rukia talks about what she does know about Toshiro, in the Japanese subtitles, she refers to them growing up as siblings.3.) Kira likes Momo. Sorry to all Toshiro/Momo fans, but there is more showing of a possible crush on Momo by Kira, then there is Toshiro.4.) Age difference. There is possibly a major age difference between Momo and Toshiro. One HAS to keep in mind, one ages slower in Soul Society, and one DOES age. Evidence of the fact, is Rukia goes from the size of an infant, to the size she is now, while Gin grows from about midway on Aizen, to Aizen's height roughly. Momo has not been growing, but Toshiro has been catching up to her height wise.The likely hood of them being a pairing... slim... but don't let that stop you from liking the pairing, or fanficing it.
