So they would have been worried about the Winkies, whom the Cowardly Lion scared off with his roar; and the winged monkeys, against which only the mark on the forehead from the kiss of the Good Witch of the North protected Dorothy and Toto. So Dorothy, the Tin Woodman, and the Scarecrow wouldn't have been worried about the wolves, crows, and black bees. For the Tin Woodman beheaded the wolves and killed the bees by removing their stingers; and the Scarecrow twisted the necks of the crows.
