3 years ago, when Jon & Kate + 8 was just on TV for a short while, the internet lit up with reports that Kate had been in a Hit and Run.
Kate was driving thru town in the big blue Sprinter Van and hit a parked car and the woman took down the Golkpr1 license plate and reported it.
I mentioned this to a tabloid reporter who investigated it thoroughly and when I talked to her the next time she said that the hit and run talk is all over town, but there is no record of it in police record. However, she said she interviewed several neighbors of the Gosselins who told her that they saw the cops go to Kate's door and heard Kate protesting very aggressively and loudly saying "I didn't stop because I'm a public figure!" and "You can't charge me I'm a public figure!"
Unfortunately at that time Jon and Kate still lived near them, the neighbors did not want to cause waves or problems for the kids so they refused to go on record with the tabloid.
Probably just like with the labor boards shady deals, Discovery Communications took care of the accident records.
