He was responsible for inclusion of first Canadian Criminal Code. As prime minister her served for only two years. His tenure was cut short by his death. In his short tenure he settled successfully the dispute of Seal Harvest with USA in Bering Sea. He also reduced trade tariffs and resolved dispute over schooling in Manitoba and North West territories. Many Historians believe he could have been a way more greater had he not died an untimely death.
