It ended the Hollywood careers of a great number of prominent actors, directors and writers, because once they were accused of being Communists by McCarthy, even if this was - as in most cases - totally unjustified, no studio dared give them work anymore and they were blacklisted.
a huge list of people in Hollywood was compiled during the red scare. supposedly these people had an affiliation with the communist party. many of these people were wrongfully tried and imprisoned.
Yes, it did. People believed to be communist or helping communist causes, or sometimes, even just sympathetic to communists could get themselves into some deep trouble. Some were put on trial. Some were "blacklisted"-- in fact, at least 150 actors, writers & journalists were blacklisted.
The Hollywood 10 cited the First Amendment in their refusal to answer whether they were or were not communists. They argued that their right to free speech and expression protected them from having to disclose their political beliefs. This refusal was part of their broader resistance against what they viewed as an infringement on civil liberties during the Red Scare. Their stance led to significant legal and professional repercussions in Hollywood.
The Hollywood Ten were a group of screenwriters and directors who were cited for contempt of Congress in 1947 after refusing to answer questions about their political beliefs and alleged communist affiliations during a House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) hearing. They invoked the First Amendment, arguing that their right to free speech was being violated. As a result, they were found guilty and sentenced to prison terms ranging from six months to a year. Their case became a significant event in the larger context of the Red Scare and the Hollywood blacklist era.
The so-called Hollywood Ten were movie industry professionals who were convicted of contempt of Congress after they refused to cooperate with the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Because they would not divulge names and information about Communists in the film studios, they were imprisoned for a year in 1950. Worse, they were placed on the "blacklist" of authors, actors, and directors and were refused work by the studio heads. This was an effort by Hollywood to placate lawmakers during the Red Scare, to avoid restrictive legislation and unfavorable publicity. Some managed to find work through sympathetic friends, but they could not be given official credit for their efforts. It was not until the late 1950's that the blacklist lost its hold as the "studio system" in Hollywood was phased out.

No, it has no affect on them.
because...
I think it was Joseph McCarthy during the height of the red scare.
McCarthyism and the Red Scare of the 1950's directly influenced the creation of the infamous Hollywood Blacklist, keeping suspected members of the Communist Party or Communist empathizers from finding jobs.
It made a bunch of patriotic rednecks crap their pants
who was involve in the red scare who was involve in the red scare
The FBI would take those under suspicion of being involved with the Soviets for questioning. They would come up with blacklists and worked to expose possible traitors and communist sympathisers. Furthermore, the FBI were partly responsible for triggering the Hollywood Red scare (lasting from 1947-1951). The Hollywood Red Scare was a huge clampdown on the content within media (in other words, media censorship) as the Soviets/communists had purportedly 'infiltrated Hollywood' and were influencing American media and mass culture.
The Red Scare was a response to Communism

the red scare was a huge blob of red clay that tormented the citizens of the united state, hence the name red scare
McCarthyism; Hollywood (California) scandals; neighbor's snitching on each other; some arrests; and then it out lived itself and faded away.
