The white population in Canada is a group of people, living in Canada, who are white or Caucasian in race.
Canada's national colors are red and white so Canada's national color is red as well as white
John Fairfield was a white man with rich parents, but saw the evils in slavery. He would perform interesting tasks jut to free black men and women. Once, he pretended to lead a funeral, set a fugitive in a coffin, and lead his family as "mourners". After the "ceremony", he and the fugitives left for Canada. He was not suspected much, because he was a white man and most assumed he was a slave owner who was taking his slaves to a sale, or something of the sort. Hope this helps :)
No, there were white people in the US who weren't well off but they weren't slaves to anyone.
Most were prisoners of war in one of the many ongoing tribal conflicts, sold to the slave traders to get them off of the chief's hands and make a profit from them, while also keeping them from returning to their own tribe. A few were hunted and captured like large game animals.
yes but some white people didnt offer an education to their slaves.
Ex slaves and white people who disagreed with slavery helped.
because slavery was not going to end until it was banned. underground railroad helped escape, but people(white) still were using slaves.
The Underground Railroad was a secret network of people who helped enslaved individuals escape from bondage in the United States during the 19th century. It consisted of a series of safe houses and routes that provided a way for slaves to travel to free states or Canada. The Underground Railroad played a crucial role in the abolitionist movement and helped thousands of enslaved people reach freedom.
the way she escaped from freedom was because she got a letter form a white slave owner who wrote telling harriet tubman how to escape.with step by step that she followed to escape. ya trick 2- CHANIZ !!!!!!!
thats where harriet tubman and about 300 other slaves escaped from slavery. Some nice white people would help them.
There were several different routes taken by slaves along the Underground Railroad. Some went to the Caribbean, to Mexico, to the northern United States, and even to Canada. Routes out of the deep south ran upward into places like Philadelphia and other free states.
It was called the "Underground Railroad". The way it worked was there were many, many people, both black and white, who helped the slaves during their escape to the north. Most of them went as far north as Canada, where they would be completely out of the jurisdiction of the US. The slaves were given the directions to a location (but no names) of a person or family who were sympathizers of the slaves, and part of the Underground Railroad. They were not given the names of the people helping them to protect the identity of the ones who were helping them. Once they reached that destination, they were given food and shelter, and hidden for safety. Hiding them was for the safety of the slaves, but also for the safety of those helping them. To be caught helping slaves was pretty much a death sentence for both the slaves and those working the Underground Railroad. From that location, they were then given directions to another location further north, then another, and so on, until they reached their final destination. They did the majority of their traveling at night, which made them less likely to be caught. Because of Harriet Tubman and those who helped her, there were many, many slaves who were able to safely escape to freedom.
No, only other slaves and her husband . If she had told a slave owner or any white she would have been beaten badly or even hung.
In Chapter 3 of Underground toCanada:Julilly is in the cart full of slaves and is explaining what the ride there is like, when the cart stops she sees a black boy stacking the cut up wood and a white man is chopping the wood. The slave children then ask Julilly to get them water but she fears the fat man whipping her. The white man who was chopping wood then comes towards the cart and Julilly sees he has no whip so he is good, he asks the slaves if they need water, then he quickly orders James (black boy) to fill the slaves in the cart water pail and to get them a gourd with water in it.
the black onesANSWER:The underground railroad was started by white abolitionists. The majority of the individuals who started the underground railroad were Quakers. This religious group was the only ones that disapproved of slavery, and felt that for one human to own another human was a sin against God.
there was just one main group which was called the antislavery groups which had many different antislavery groups attached to the main one. there was a network of freed African American and white abolitionists who helped free those who came along trying to escape.
