This is a popular question!! Membership pass can be acquired through an event in NYC or Japan , or if you have Action Replay. Also, I'm not sure if this works, but you can get it through Wi-Fi connection. You get mystery gift and then say get gift from online, and by pure chance you get membership pass. I haven't tried this, so i don't know if it's authentic, however, i have tried AR and that works.

You can do Mystery Gift by going to the Jubilife TV Center's third floor. There is a man who accepts sayings from you. Tell him the following :

The Member Pass was a Nintendo event released in 2009 and unobtainable legitimately at the moment. This event was for Pokemon Platinum, however and seemingly not have been available for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

There is an event going on now (in the USA) from August 3rd to September 13th 2009. To be able to get it you first have to make sure you have the Mystery Gift available.

TO GET MYSTERY GIFT: first you have to go to the tv studio on the top floor in Jubilife city. Once on that floor talk to the couple there with the tv camera. They will ask you two sets of questions-for the first set select "EVERYONE" and "HAPPY" then for the second question choose "WI-FI" and "CONNECTION" once you do this save and reset the game.

Once you turn the game back on there will be an option called Mystery Gift (on the same menu where you go to load your game). Choose Mystery Gift and then select "Get Via Nintendo WFC" (to be able to use this you need to have your DS be able to connect to the internet). Once you select that it will search for the gift-and it shall then appear. Once you have it go inside any pokemart and there will be a man in green waiting there-talk to him and he will give you the card ^.^

For this particular event you need to have the national dex-once you do this you then go to Canalave City and will now be able to get into the locked inn. Hope this helps! : )
