If your system only has one COM: port, you will have to physically add in a card or USB-RS232 serial adapter, and follow the installation instructions.
If your system has 2 COM: ports, make sure that in the CMOS (BIOS) settings, that the port isn't disabled or assigned as an InfraRed port.
Also, make sure that you physically have the connectors at the back of the unit available. Many motherboards offer COM2: only as an option, and it requires an optional (not included) cable that hooks to the motherboard.
A cell Phone can not use the PS3 Bluetooth system for your online connection on the PS3. The PS3 systems design will only allow the internet connection to be ethernet cable or WiFi and not the the USB port connections

The "com" ports are computer, serical communications ports (normally RS-232).
well COM1, COM2, COM3, and COM4 are sometimes configured as Serial Ports.
IRQ 3 is for COM2 and COM4 (serial ports). See related link.
The serial ports are named ttyS0, ttyS1, etc.And usually correspond respectively to COM1, COM2, etc. in DOS/Windows
you don't have to look for a connection with the ports
There's no limit to the number of serial ports. The maximum number for the traditional ports is 2 (COM1/COM3 and COM2/COM4). Plus you can attach additional serial port adapters to a USB port, up to 127 per controller.
COM ports transfer data using a serial connection as opposed to a parallel connection.
Without those ports at the back, you would have no where to plug your monitor, your mouse, your keyboard, your printer, your scanner etc...
One way to add USB ports to a computer you need a USB expansion card that you add to the motherboard. The card usually has multiple USB ports built into them.
The default IRQ for COM2 is typically 3, while for COM4, it is usually 5. These IRQ settings allow the operating system to manage hardware interrupts for the respective serial ports. However, these values can sometimes vary based on the system configuration and settings in the BIOS. Always check your specific system documentation for accurate IRQ assignments.
You can connect several of them together, to add more ports as needed.
