Explain that your character has similar features that other cartoon characters may , or may not have/share , such as eyes , nose or ears etc . . .
In other words , your character may have squinty eyes like Mister McGoo , arms like Popeye , or a nose like Dilbert .
How do you think the creater of Pokemon described it, there was nothing like that at the time.

The major points to keep in mind is that we must first know the advantages & the cons. what if the character remains young foreever while we stink up having bald head and wobbly bones at our sixties. So the relation with time must remain which is physically impossible for an animated digital character but it may be possible.
