Once you beat the game and get the national pokedex put Pokemon red in the gameboy slot at he bottom of your ds and you can download it or something like that either at a station near or at the valley windworks. If it's the valley windworks then just do the first part and run around in the grass until elekid pops up or something like that. I know this is a little unclear so can someone add on to this answer or edit this a answer if this isn't right?
