To catch Regigas i (in Pkmn D/P), you must first obtain all 3 of the Regis (Regiice, Regirock, Registeel), which is only possible in D/P through the Pal Park or through cheating. Than, you put the three Regis in your party and travel to Snowpoint City. Regigas is located in Snowpoint Temple. You also must have beaten the Elite 4.

When is the next regiggas event?
There will most likely not be another Regigigas event, but you can capture your own Regigigas in Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum if you capture the three Regis (Regice, Regirock, Registeel) in Sapphire, Ruby, or Emerald, transfer them to a Gen IV game via Pal Park, then take them to the basement of the Snow Temple in Snowpoint City, interact with the statue, and capture it. You can find Regirock in the Desert Ruins on Route 111, if you have a Wailord and Relicanth in your party. To open up the area Regirock is, go to the back of the room, then take two steps to the right and two steps down, then use Strength. (In Emerald, though, it's two steps left instead of right and Rock Smash instead of Strength.) Regice is in the Island cave on Route 105. Again, you have to have Relicanth and Wailord to get into the first chamber. To open the area Regice is in, surf in a clock wise motion around the island. Registeel is in the Ancient Tomb on Route 120. Yet again, Relicanth and Wailord have to be in your party, and go into the center of the room and use Flash to open up the area where Registeel is.
