Connecting a Mac to an HD TV will depend on the Mac and TV. If the Mac has a DVI port you can run a cable to the TV (See links below). If the Mac has a Mini Display Port you will need connect a cable to add a DVI connection. With some set ups there may be a need to also have a separate audio connection.

either check the hdmi cable or unplug and replug. You have to use the correct input format on your tv. Ex: input one is av cables (yellow,red,white) while input 2 is coaxial. Input 3 should be hdmi. unless you have more than one hdmi input they should be names hdmi 1,2,3 etc. You must select it from your TV remote.
I plugged the HDMI cable into the HDTV and into the PS3. Then I went to the settings for both the HDTV and the PS3 slim and set them for HDMI and sync. When it works right putting a disc into the PS3 will turn on the HDTV and also switch the HDTV over to that HDMI input rather than a cable box or similar item even if it was on the cable box when you last used the HDTV.
It is your TV that is saying no signal and not the PS3. When it happens to me it is when the TV is not switched to the correct source. For me this is when the HDTV is still at the PS3 source of HDMI or HDMI-3 plug and not the cable HDMI plug or HDMI-1. It can also happen when you purchase a cheap HDMI cable that stops working or when something is just disconnected from either end of the PS3 A/V or HDMI cable

DVI does not support audio, so there will be no audio on the port. Buying a DVI to HDMI connector will provide an HDMI connection to link to a television. *check that the model has a DVI port before buying the cable. Alternatively, it is possible to buy a USB based video display. This provide an external screen port and can be DVI or HDMI. They are not expensive and should provide the right output to link to an HDMI input.
