To answer this question the output voltage of the generator must be stated. Breakers are sized to protect the wire that is connected to it. Wire is sized by the amperage that it can carry.

Once the voltage is stated use the following equation Amps = kW x 1000/1.73 x Volts x pf. for three phase and Amps = kW x 1000/Volts x pf. In both cases use .9 for a power factor value.

What problems occur if a high frequency signal generator is not operated in the correct load?

You are unlikely to damage the equipment, as most signal generators deliver low output powers, and will not be damaged either by an open circuit load or a sort circuit load. You *will* have calibration problems. If your generator has an output level calibration, that calibration is only accurate when loaded by the specified impedance (commonly, 50 or 75 ohms). Any other load will cause the actual output to be more or less than indicated on the output level indicator. A simple generator may also not give an accurate frequency with the wrong load. Such equipment is not usually very precise in any way (including frequency), so load impedance will probably not have any important consequences. If you are not relying on exact output voltage levels (e.g. testing performance of equipment), the load impedance is not critical so long's it's not a short circuit (when you would get *zero* output).

From his heaviest in King Size Homer, around 75 pounds.

What is the average size of a donkey brain?

The average size of a donkey's brain is comparable to a human. The donkey's brain is between 50 and 75 percent of the size of the human brain.

What is the smallest tiger?

The Sumatran tiger is the smallest subspecies of tiger. Males range in size from 100 to 140 kg (220 to 310 lbs) and females range in size from 75 to 110 kgs (170 lbs to 240 lbs.)

What size breaker for 12 gauge aluminum wire?

A #12 aluminium conductor with an insulation factor of 75 or 90 degrees C is rated at 15 amp. Therefore the largest size breaker to protect that wire will be a breaker rated at 15 amps.

Can a 400 kw generator handle a 460 kw load?

Since the breaker that is installed on the generator set will be sized to the output of the 30 kW generator, the load will stay connected until the thermal trip of the breaker trips the load off line. This will be in the matter of seconds before it happens. To handle a 75 kW load and depending if it is an inductive or a resistive load you will need at least a 80 to 100 kW generator.

What size wire for 75 feet of wire for a 30 amp 220 volt oven?

A 30 amp breaker run 75 feet would require you use AWG #10 wire. But, an oven normally pulls more that 30 amps and I would not use #10 wire on a 30 amp breaker for an oven. Normally any newer oven is wired with AWG #6 gauge wire on a 50 amp circuit breaker so the breaker will not trip during heavy use of the oven. Some older ovens could use a #8 wire on a 40 amp breaker.

What size wire do you need to run 100 ft 75 amp 230 volt?

Depends on the size of the circuit which you did not list.

What size of breaker is use for 75 horsepower 220 volts 3 phase induction motor?

500 amp breaker with 250 mcm cu conductors, NEC list this motor as drawing 192 amps X 250% = 480amps go to the next standard size of breaker which would be a 500.

What size wire does a 70 amp breaker require?

A breaker is sized by the conductor that is connected to it but also the load that is connected to the breaker. There are some cases such as motor loads where the breaker has to be 250% of the motors full nameplate amperage.A #4 aluminium conductor with an insulation factor of 90 degrees C is rated for 75 amps.

What size wire for a 30 amp breaker to ac?

A # 10 wire with a insulation factor of 75 or 90 degrees C are both rated at 30 amps.

What size main breaker feeding 480v 75 kva transformer?

An exact breaker size can not be given because the voltage, and hence the calculation for current, is not given. A transformer shall be protected by an over current device that is not rated at more that 150% of the primary current.

Can you use 14 wire for a light off a 20 amp circuit?

Yes, in home wiring as long as it is protected by a 15 amp breaker. Remember this circuit will only handle 1800 watts and cannot be loaded to any more than 1440 watts. So if each light is 75 watts then the maximum you can install is 19.

What wire should you use in 300 amp three phase circuit breaker?

A 350 MCM copper conductor with an insulation factor of 75 or 90 degrees C is rated at 310 and 325 amps respectively.

Can you power 7 recessed lights on one 15 amp breaker?

count your total amount of watts you are going to use (ie 7 bulbs 75 watts =525watt) watts divided by voltage 525 divided by 120vac = 4.375 amps, you can only load a circuit to 80% 15 amp breaker @ 80%=12 amps, you cannot exceed this by the electrical code.make sure you know what other loads are on the circuit unless this is a separate circuit. hope this helps..

What wire size is required for a branch circuit with 10 outlets and a 15 amp breaker?

With a 15 A breaker you need 14 Gauge wire. Normally you would only put 8 outlets on a 15 A circuit. If you have the option you shoudl consider a 20 A circuit, use 20A receptacles and 12 gauge wire. Comment: The question was on a homeowners electrical exam. My answer was also 14 gauge however, the tester said the answer was 12 ga. I thought maybe there was something special about the 10 outlets. For example, 10x180 VA per outlet/120V = 15 A which is right at the limit for 14 ga but would be 75% for the 12 ga wire.
