You are unlikely to damage the equipment, as most signal generators deliver low output powers, and will not be damaged either by an open circuit load or a sort circuit load.

You *will* have calibration problems. If your generator has an output level calibration, that calibration is only accurate when loaded by the specified impedance (commonly, 50 or 75 ohms). Any other load will cause the actual output to be more or less than indicated on the output level indicator.

A simple generator may also not give an accurate frequency with the wrong load. Such equipment is not usually very precise in any way (including frequency), so load impedance will probably not have any important consequences.

If you are not relying on exact output voltage levels (e.g. testing performance of equipment), the load impedance is not critical so long's it's not a short circuit (when you would get *zero* output).

Should wind turbine blades be straight or on an angle?

If the wind turbine is generating, then the blade angle will be angled. The only time the blades will be feathered (turned so that they face straight into the wind allowing the wind pressure to be equal on both the front and back side of the blades) is when the generator is being serviced. In this position the blades will not try to turn. This angulation of the blades is a variant of the wind speed, the stronger the wind the finer the pitch on the blade. The lighter the wind the more course the blade pitch will be. It is mandatory that the blades have to have variable pitch. When the generator is operational, the blades are in a constant state of pitch adjustment allowing the generator to remain at a constant rotation speed. As more amperage load is required from the generator, the generator will slow down in rotation. This reduced generator speed is sensed by the generator's governor. The governor sends a signal to the variable pitch control circuitry that the generator is slowing down and to increase the pitch of the blades to bring the generator's speed back to its correct operational speed.

What modifications must be done if 50Hz generator is to be used at 60 Hz?

To run a 50Hz generator at 60Hz, you would need to adjust the engine speed to match the increased frequency. This could require modifications to the governor system to ensure the engine is running at the correct speed. Additionally, you may need to upgrade the insulation on the generator windings to handle the higher frequency without overheating.

How is a mechanical clock better than a electric clock?

In the past mechanical clocks were used to check the frequency in generating stations. The mechanical clock was used as a standard as its time keeping was not affected by the frequency of the generated voltage. The two clocks were mounted side by side for easy viewing by the generator's operator. If the electrical clock was faster than the mechanical clock this would tell the operator that the frequency was high and had to be turned down by reducing the speed of the generator. Likewise if the electrical clock was slower that the mechanical clock then the operator would have to speed the generator up a bit. Now this is all taken care of by electronic monitors. The frequency is checked many time a second to make sure it is still in the correct rangethat consumers depend on for frequency driven equipment.

Can you run your computer from a gas generator?

I have never tried, but as long as the generator is outputting the correct voltage, I don't see why not.

What are the parts of an generator?

There is no such thing as an AC generator, if it's DC it's a generator, if it's AC, it's an alternator.CommentThe above answer isn't correct, as 'generator' is a generic term applied to both d.c. and a.c. machines. It is perfectly correct to use the terms 'd.c. generator' or 'a.c. generator'. It is also correct to call an a.c. generator an 'alternator'.To answer the question, an a.c. generator can be broken down into two main parts: the 'stator' (stationary part) and the 'rotor' (rotating part). The field winding is part of the rotor assembly, and the armature windings (the windings into which the generated voltages are induced) are part of the stator assembly.

Can a Generac home generator power a whole house?

You must select the correct model of the Generac home generator if you wish to have power in your home when the electricity goes out. If you select the correct model, then yes, the Generac home generator would be a good backup.

How do you synchronize 2 power generators?

generally the generators are synchrozised by checking three conditions 1. their terminal voltages must be the same 2.their frequencies must be same 3.their phase sequence must be same if any one of the conditions are not satisfied and they are connected in parallel then the machines will be burnt with in a fraction of second
