Easy! The herbivores, ( the jackrabbits, and such) eat off plants in the desert like cactuses, desert fruit, and yeah, you get the point. The omnivores pretty much eat the herbivores and carnivores in the desert so... yeah... get the picture? Good! The carnivores eat the herbivores and omnivores, and that's it. So look at it this way: carnivores=omnivores and herbivores= herbivores or plants= water= :( you get pretty much get it.

I live in the Chihuahuan Desert and have a Wal*Mart SuperCenter within a few blocks of my home where I can purchase just about any type of food I could desire. There are also a number of restaurants and fast food establishments within walking distance of my home. I estimate that 99.99% of the millions and millions of people living in deserts around the world are in a similar situation. For those few who live far from a city or town, many raise their own food or make occasional trips into a town to stock up on supplies.

Millions upon millions of people around the world live in deserts and the

vast majority (over 99%) live in cities and towns where food is readily

available in stores and markets or restaurants. I live in the Chihuahuan

Desert and have a Wal*Mart SuperCenter a half mile from my home where I

can purchase nearly any food I desire. There are also a number of

restaurants and fast food establishments within a short walking distance

of my home. For those who live far from a town or city, many of them grow

at least part of their own food and purchase other food items when they

make an occasional trip into town to stock up on supplies.

The same way animals in any other place do - they either eat plants or eat other animals.

Animals have to adapt to the environment in the desert. Only certain animals can survive. Many animals only come out at night and will get water from plants and other food they find.

Deserts are inanimate regions, non-living. They do not gather food. Humans and other animals living in deserts do gather food, however.
