Yes, Deidara died, he used C0, Deidara's strongest Exploding Clay, but the cost to use it the technique is the users life. He tried to use C0 to kill Sasuke, Sasuke however summoned Madara and hid inside his mouth.

In short, Deidara commited suicide.

Ok, I deleted the last pharagraph because, basically, he said "Deidara blew himself up! But it isn't suicide because Sasuke pushed him to do it!" And last time I checked, when someone kills themself it is considered suicide, regardless of what drove him to do it.
