Freeing the soul from the body so that is can reunite with Brahman.
1 Manually/ Voluntarily using our 'I' (Aham)
2. Automatically/ involuntarily using our soul / Atman
Our Atman is supposed to have become one with Brahman if we can execute all activities of our life automatically/ involuntarily under all conditions.
Execution of an activity of our life using 'I' indicates that what we are doing is not compatible with other activities of our life, in the long run. Every time we try to repeat the activity, it gets transformed automatically to become compatible, which is called as Reincarnation (of the activity). The force that indicates incompatibility is what is known as Karma.
GETTING RID OF KARMA
1. Since change is what activates Karma, we must always find out what is common to all activities and get rid of the differences.
2. Vedic Meditation, a set of isometric exercises, enables us to understand and minimize Karma manually.
3. Purusha (Rig Veda 1.10.90), which is our entire skeletal muscular system acting as a single unit, enables us to understand the nature of Karma and Brahman. Unfortunately, interpretation of Purusha based on its literal meaning makes us conclude that Purusha is a mythological character.
4. According to Jnanam (Rig Veda 1. 10. 71 - 11) one can have Brahmajnana through Yajna only. (Ya - which of the, Jna - isometric contraction). However, we believe that Yajna is a ritual.
Yajna is a Vedic meditation experiment in which we make the tone of our skeletal muscular system 50% and then isometrically contract and relax every pair of muscle in our mouth (Brahmanada) and observe contraction of which pair of muscles solves our problem.
4. Since Brahmajnana automatically eliminates Karma, a complete knowledge of it and a life based on it, would enable us to minimize Karma.
At its core Hinduism is a monotheistic religion. All of the different 'gods' are manifestations of Brahman.
Many. But the most obvious difference is 'exclusivity'.In Hinduism, people believe in one supreme god - Brahman (as the universal spirit) and different manifestations of Brahman. Hinduism has a range of Gods and Goddesses. In Islam, people believe in and worship God as the one and only one God (same God in Christianity and Judaism). Called Allah in Arabic (even in Arabic Bible version God is written as Allah). You have to worship Allah in Islam. In Hinduism, the judgment is secular. Hindus and non-Hindus, all are judged irrespective of their belief. In Islam, the judgment; after death; is based on your belief and worship of one and only one God and on your good deeds.Hinduism is an Indian or Dharmic Religion.Islam is God religion (usually called Abrahamic Religion to which Christianity and Judaism are also belonging).Hindus pray in temples / Mandirs.Muslims pray in mosques. In Hinduism, there are many manifestation of god and is also personified. In islam (as well as Christianity and Judaism) there are no pictures of God (or Allah), It is sinful to picture Allah (or God in English) in any form or shape.
Actually, initially it did. It became very popular and influential and became the dominate religion for a time. But little by Little Brahman priests become more integrated with the government and used thier influence to stiffle Buddhism and reinstate Hinduism. But there was an positive influence to Hinduism. Many of the beliefs of Buddhism were incorporated in Hinduism to the point that The Buddha is now thought of as an avatar of Vishnu.
Modern day Hinduism is very confusing. There are different sects, different Gods, different scriptures. But original Hinduism is known as Sanatana Dharma. It is a way of life. It teaches us that we are not this body that will die, we are not even the Mind and Ego that says its ME, we are the Divine Atman, the Soul, the Spirit. This is the key teaching of Sanatana Dharma or original Hinduism. Our goal is to realize we are the Soul; to be liberated from the cycle of death and rebirth; to overcome Maya or the cosmic illusion; to transcend Karma and to unite with the Divine- these are the key beliefs.
