An elephant is adapted to its environment in India and other parts of the world because the elephants log trunk is very effective for carrying large amounts of water and can be transferred to other places. The elephants sharp tusks are also a good part of their body it helps to protect them. they also has large ears that it can move to fan itself. In South Africa you can find elephants living in a jungle situation (Knysna elephants), living in the grasslands such as in the Kruger National Park (this would be their "normal" habitat and even some living in the desert in Namibia (Namib elephants). The knsyna elephants adapted due to being hunted a long time ago and I can assure you they are very good at moving silently through heavy bush and trees. Thw Namib elephants have adapted to living along the Okavango River and when this runs dry they still manage to survive. So that shows how an elephant has a a remarkable ability to adapt to their ienvironment whether due to danger (hunted) or drought like conditions.
