At the end though dally does die because after johnny dies in the hospital, dally takes it very hard because johnny was the only thing/person dally actually loved, so dally robbed a store and when the police came after him he used his fake gun to pretend to shoot at them so the police shot Dallas Winston dead on the ground.
How does dally feel about helping people in the Outsiders? why does he feel this way?

In S.E. Hinton's novel "The Outsiders," Dally's leather jacket symbolizes his tough and rebellious nature. The jacket serves as a representation of his defiance against authority and his disregard for societal norms. It also acts as a protective armor for Dally, shielding him from the harsh realities of his environment. Overall, the jacket is a visual cue that highlights Dally's outsider status and his struggle to find his place in a world that often rejects him.

Cherry Valance poses a problem for Dally in "The Outsiders" because she represents a world and values that are starkly different from his own. Dally, who is hardened by his tough upbringing and often aggressive demeanor, finds himself drawn to Cherry's beauty and her more innocent perspective on life. However, her association with the Socs, the rival social group, complicates his feelings and creates a conflict between his desire for connection and the animosity he feels towards the Socs. This tension highlights the broader class divide and personal struggles that Dally faces throughout the story.
If you are an outsider it means you don't fit in with what is considered normal. An outsider is someone that doesn't fit in quite well. They dont belong in a group. For example: "I feel like an outsider right now."People that dont fit into a group and stand out.It actually doesn't mean a lot to the book. It is just that the author wanted to kept it that name. But in real life, it mostly means someone who is from another country or city and has some trouble adapting to the environment in the new city or country.
