Missouri's legal statutes do not specify a period of time when abandonment occurs, however most judges in that state concur that abandonment has occurred when the non-custodial parent has left the child and provided no means of support for the child for a period of six months. In those cases, the non-custodial parent may petition the court for termination of parental rights of the non-custodial parent.
However, if the other parent contests the petition, then you are unlikely to prevail since the courts prefer that both parents are part of the child's life. The best course of action is probably to go through the normal process of filing a motion with the court to establish child support and visitation. Then you can receive support for your child and have scheduled visitation set up. If the parent has no interest in the child then he is unlikely to even use the visitation.
In Ohio it is considered abandonment if a child is neglected or suffers physical or mental injury by a parent. It is also abandonment if a parent leaves their child for any period of time without any support, money, or communication.
If the husband and wife are staying in New Jersey , and the husband leaves the wife without at all informing her, a case of abandonment can be very well filed.
•Child abandonment in Washington is: • (1) A Parent or guardian abandons a child when the parent or guardian is responsible for the care, education, or support of a child and: (a) Deserts the child in any manner whatever with the intent to abandon the child; (b) Leaves a child without the means or ability to obtain one or more of the basic necessities of life such as food, water, shelter, clothing, hygiene, and medically necessary health care; or (c) Forgoes for an extended period of time parental rights, functions, duties and obligations despite an ability to exercise such rights, duties, and obligations. (2) Abandonment of a child by a parent may be established by conduct on the part of a parent or guardian that demonstrates a substantial lack of regard for the rights, duties, and obligations of the parent or guardian or for the health, welfare, and safety of the child. Criminal activity or incarceration of a parent or guardian does not constitute abandonment in and of themselves, but a pattern of criminal activity or repeated or long-term incarceration may constitute abandonment of a child. •WAC 388-15-011 •[Statutory Authority: RCW 74.13.031, 74.04.050, and chapter 26.44 RCW. 02-15-098 and 02-17-045, § 388-15-011, filed 7/16/02 and 8/14/02, effective 2/10/03.] http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=388-15-011
no law addressing it
Yes, if he obtains a court order. The family court can issue an order requiring the mother to cooperate with DNA testing.

How long can a parent go without seeing a child before its considered abandonment in the state of Pennsylvania
In Ohio it is considered abandonment if a child is neglected or suffers physical or mental injury by a parent. It is also abandonment if a parent leaves their child for any period of time without any support, money, or communication.
There is no statute on the Missouri books to permit charging a parent with abandonment who has not seen the child. Please see for yourself in the related link below:
if they left you on the street yes *joke* if they left you in others care for less than 1 month is not so much abandonment if the left you careless (for 6 days) it is considered abandonment more than a month in proper care i am not so sure if it is considered total abandonment very good question :))
If the husband and wife are staying in New Jersey , and the husband leaves the wife without at all informing her, a case of abandonment can be very well filed.
A bit of almost a few years
noI'm in KCMO
It would be cruel to file abandonment charges against the father simply because he had no way of picking the child up. Arrangements could have been made. It is time both parents thought of the child and not themselves. If the father tried his best then accept it; if he is a dead beat father and the mother cannot rely on the father then file abandonment charges.
No, not without a court order. No, not without a court order. No, not without a court order. No, not without a court order.
Not really. I've seen far too many cases where fathers leave because the mother told them to, than they are accused of abandonment.
Depends on the state. It can be 6 months to a 1 year without paying child support etc.
