In every one of Alfred Hitchcock's movies after The Lodger (with the exception of his 1936 film Sabotage), he made a cameo appearance. He never had any lines, merely appeared as a fellow citizen on the streets, coming off of a bus as the actor in the movie would go on, eating at a restaurant in which the actors were eating at also, reading a newspaper on a park bench, and so on...

Hitchcock did not appear in his early British movies. It wasn't until his third movie, The Lodger, that he began making cameo appearances. Out of the movies in which he did have cameos, he technically did not appear in Lifeboat, Rope, Dial M for Murder and Family Plot. In Lifeboat, his cameo appearance was in a newspaper advertisement. In Rope, a neon sign of Hitchcock appeared outside the window. In Dial M for Murder, he appeared in a photograph.
