It would be difficult to determine the actual number of people that Reverend Harper may have preached the Gospel to, but survivors did see him do this act to people on board as the ship was sinking, and continued to do so after he jumped into the water, at one point giving away his lifejacket to an eventual Survivor. Harper eventually died due to the freezing waters.
