Brooks. The old man who worked in the library and had a raven or crow for a pet. I don't remember his first name. He had been in prison for more than 30 years and was "institutionalized."
There have been several Prison Gangster films- such as San Quentin, Crime school, almost a prison sitcom, and more seriously Green Mile, Shawshank redemption, and others. Not exactly universally popular fare. So there are a few of both the classic and modern generation.
A little "dark", but it adequately portrayed the emotional state of someone who had been falsly arrested. It was also quite accurate about the inside of a prison, the kinds of things that go on and the attitude of some guards from that era. Not all guards were that way, in fact most weren't. But there were enough corrupt guards that it is worth showing. In all, I would consider it a film to see for someone who is interested in what goes on in a prison.

I have no idea The aria, Che soave zeffireto, (I'm sure) is sung by Gundula Janowitz and Edith Mathis, from an old performance conducted by Karl Bohm. It was recorded in 1968 and has been reissued on Deutsche Grammofon. A good but not outstanding performance.
Shawshank Redemption is my all time favourite movie. It has got tragedy, drama, victory over severe odds. Now apparently The Count of Monte Cristo has a different plot line set in a different milieu - the only commonality in the storyline being the jailbreak. Yet in spirit the two films I feel, are exactly same. The Revenge in both are stylish, muted and so fundamental to the storyline that it redeems itself in its execution. Perhaps the revenge in shawshank was swift as the last move in a game of chess while Monte Cristo scores higher on the melodrama and slower to checkmate the King. In fact now I have a strong suspicion that the author of Shawshank may have been strongly "inspired" by Monte Cristo. Frankly I have lost a little respect for the storyline of the movie after I saw Monte Cristo.
I am responding to a comment made about Morgan Freeman, He was not on sesame street, he the on a show called the electric company, which was a show on for kids a little bit older and it was usually on right after sesame street.

Red, played by Morgan Freeman in the film Shawshank Redemption, is introduced as a long-time inmate at Shawshank Prison. He serves as a mentor to the main character, Andy Dufresne, and helps him navigate prison life. Red is known for his resourcefulness and ability to procure items for other inmates through his connections.
There could be more but the ones I know of are, Stand By Me, The Green Mile, Shawshank redemption, Carrie (Right?), Kujo, It, I don't remember all of his works for horror but I would say that the first three I mentioned are somewhat surprising that King wrote them but he did.
Four. He was in Marquesas, All-Stars, Heroes v. Villains, and Redemption Island
