Jeremy Brett has played Sherlock Holmes in a number of movies. He played in a TV series as Sherlock Holmes from 1984 to 1994 and in a theatrical stage performance from 1988 to 1989.
As my name makes apparent, I am a great fan of Robert DOwney Jr as am I his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes. I have heard the rumours of a sequel with none being confirmed as of yet, though it has been brought up so many times, I think it shall have one.
Some of the most popular old TV shows from the 1980's include; The Wonder Years, Small Wonder, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Agatha Christie's Poirot and finally The Bold and the Beautiful.

The Sherlock Holmes TV Show which is considered the best finished years ago after the actor who portrayed Holmes, Jeremy Brett passed away. There is at least 1 Sherlock Holmes TV show on at the moment. It's called Sherlock. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson. It is a modern adaptation, set in 21st century London. Series 2 will be coming to BBC1 soon. I recommend it. It's very good, some people even think it may be better than the Jeremy Brett version. Also an American TV broadcaster called CBS are planning on making a modern Sherlock Holmes. Obviously they didn't copy the idea at ALL.
Sherlock Holmes' hair is raven black. This is its color in most physical appearances throughout the years, including all drawings (the traditional sketches being by Sidney Paget) and television shows such as Granada's version of the stories (starring Jeremy Brett as Holmes and David Burke/Edward Hardwicke as Watson). Only in the animated series called Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century was it a different color; that was blonde.
7 years older than Sherlock.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of different Sherlock Holmes books have been published over the past 125 years. Which one are you asking about?
No, they were not related. Sherlock Holmes was a character in fiction. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. (1841-1935) was a living person who served on the US Supreme Court for 30 years. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. (1809-1894) was a famous author.
"Eye of the Crow" is a Sherlock Holmes novel by Shane Peacock. The main characters in the book are Sherlock Holmes, Dr. John Watson, and a young pipe-smoking Sherlock Holmes in his teenage years. They investigate the case involving a murder and encounter various suspects and witnesses throughout the story.

The book you are asking about might be called 'Castle Rouge: A Novel of Suspense featuring Sherlock Holmes, Irene Adler, and Jack the Ripper' by Carole Nelson Douglas, which is a parody or pastiche of the Sherlock Holmes character. It is not a true Sherlock Holmes story. There have been many stories and books written by fans of Conan Doyle who have created alternative Sherlock Holmes stories, attempting to be as true to the original story as possible.
No, Jeremy Brett died of heart disease most likely as a result from smoking heavily for many years and from the complications caused by lithium, the drug he had to take for his bipolar disorder. Linda Pritchard was by his side when he died.
Bisexual, in 1958, Brett married the actress Anna Massey (daughter of Raymond Massey), but they divorced in 1962 when he left her for a man. Their son, David Huggins, born in 1959, is now a successful British cartoonist, illustrator and novelist. Years later, Brett and Massey appeared together in the BBC's dramatization of Rebecca (1978), with Brett playing the haunted hero, Max de Winter, and Massey playing the sinister housekeeper, Mrs Danvers. (David Huggins also played an uncredited bit part in the film.). In 1991 Brett and Anna Massey's brother Daniel Massey appeared in an episode of Sherlock Holmes series. In 1977 Brett married American PBS producer Joan Wilson. She died of cancer in 1985. Brett was devastated by Wilson's death and did not marry again.
By his own account, Sherlock Holmes attended university for two years, meaning he had a more than adequate education. The details of his education apart from that are not included in the canon, however, apart from Holmes' statement that his area of study was different from most of the other students. (My personal theory is that he studied chemistry at Oxford, which is more of a history/English school, as opposed to Cambridge, known for maths and science, but that's just me.)
