The Sherlock Holmes TV Show which is considered the best finished years ago after the actor who portrayed Holmes, Jeremy Brett passed away. There is at least 1 Sherlock Holmes TV show on at the moment. It's called Sherlock. It stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Holmes and Martin Freeman as Watson. It is a modern adaptation, set in 21st century London. Series 2 will be coming to BBC1 soon. I recommend it. It's very good, some people even think it may be better than the Jeremy Brett version. Also an American TV broadcaster called CBS are planning on making a modern Sherlock Holmes. Obviously they didn't copy the idea at ALL.

I believe there were forty-one episodes with Jeremy Brett, but only five of them were feature length. He stared in 2 only. Both were TV Movies and classed as such. The Sign of Four (TV Movie) 1987 and The Hound of the Baskervilles (TV Movie) 1988. All others were part of the TV series with some being "extended editons"
On the Sherlock Holmes DVD compilation of the Granada TV series starring Jeremy Brett there is a violin piece on the main menu of each disc does anyone know the name of this piece? I am referring to the theme in the beginning of each episode, I speaking of the violin piece that plays on each dvd menu with the list of episodes.
