In the UK, most schools have about 13 weeks of holiday and 5 teacher training days so the total days of school is 190, where as in America I think there is 180 days (Although I'm not entirely sure) so there is an extra weeks of school in the UK. The holidays are- 6 weeks summer holidays, 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks at Easter and then there is a week half way through each term (there are three terms) I'm not sure if this applies throughout Europe though
