Reynaldo is the spy that Polonius sends over to France to spy on his son Laertes. He is told that he is supposed to ask people in France what Laertes is actually like (does he party, drink, sleep with prostitutes etc.). The reasoning behind Polonius sending Reynaldo over to France is to see if Laertes is actually there studying art, or if he is just playing around.
Reynaldo serves as a servant and spy for Polonius in Shakespeare's play "Hamlet." He is tasked with the responsibility of gathering information about Laertes, Polonius's son, who is studying in Paris. Polonius instructs Reynaldo to subtly inquire about Laertes's behavior and character, reflecting Polonius's manipulative nature and his desire to control those around him. Reynaldo's role highlights themes of surveillance and deception within the play.
Polonius expects Laertes, when he is in Paris, to spend his time in pubs, brothels and gambling dens. He sends Reynaldo to spy on him and observe all his faults, and presumably to report back to Polonius. Why does Polonius do this? Because he loves spying on people. We will see him use this technique on Hamlet later on.
This idea is introduced in Act One. Queen Gertrude asks Hamlet why he is still so heavily mourning the death of his father, claiming that he seems to be grieving more than is necessary.
In Shakespeare's "Hamlet," Polonius and Reynaldo fail to reveal to Claudius the true nature of Hamlet's madness and the underlying reasons for it, particularly its connection to his father’s death and Gertrude’s hasty remarriage. Instead, they focus on superficial observations and rumors about Hamlet's behavior, attempting to gather information without disclosing the full context of his distress. This omission contributes to the misinterpretation of Hamlet's actions by Claudius and others at court.
Only to Yoric, Horatio and Old Hamlet; The rest of the cast gets a lot of flack from Hamlet.[and heccuba~]
In Hamlet, Reynaldo is obligated to follow the instructions given to him by Polonius because Polonius is his superior Polonius sent Reynaldo to Paris so he could spy on Laertes for him..
Reynaldo is only in one scene and gets next-to-no characterization. That makes this a difficult question, although the easy answer is just that: Hamlet is the central character while Reynaldo could be cut out of the play completely and nobody would notice. If one were to reach for a contrast, one might say that Hamlet gets a straightforward instruction, "avenge your father," but dithers about it, while Reynaldo gets a bizarre instruction, "go slander my son to see if anyone agrees with you," but follows it with little hesitation.

Reynaldo is a Spanish/Portuguese variant of the Old Norse name Reynold/Ronald, meaning "powerful counsel".
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern spy on Hamlet, Claudius and Polonius spy on Hamlet while he is talking to Ophelia, and Polonius spies on Hamlet when he is talking to Gertrude. On the other hand, Hamlet and Horatio spy on Claudius during the play-within-a-play. And in a completely unrelated bit of spying Polonius gets Reynaldo to spy on Laertes.

Hamlet Sr (Old Hamlet) was the King of Denmark and Hamlet Jr's (Hamlet) father. Hamlet Sr dies at the beginning of the play and the story follows Hamlet Jr as the main character. Hope this helps, Have a great day.
Hamlet breaks into Ophelia's chamber sometime near the beginning of Act II. We cannot tell exactly when because it happens offstage. However, it appears that Ophelia has rushed straight from the incident to tell her father, so Hamlet must have been in there when Polonius is talking to Reynaldo.
Reynaldo is his employee.
