I imported a ps3 from china and I am in south Africa and this PS3 will not play any of my ps2 games because of a region restriction how do I turn this off so I can play both my PS3 and ps2 games?

Did you try the settings?
Go on the internet with your ps3 and type in www.ps3regionrestriction.com.... it will let you format your ps3 so you can play any game from any country... by the way you can only go to that site on a ps3 <<READ THE LAST BIT
If you do not have a PS3 with 4 USB ports the reason it will not play your games is not related to region restriction and is one of Backward Compatibility. Only some PS3 can play PS2 games and those are the very early PS3 Models with 4 USB ports. See related PS3 network link
