In the movie after Bruno sees the Propaganda film, he is thinking about joining the Nazis side. But with his teacher and Gretel telling him one thing, and Pavel and Shmuel acting totally different. Both Shmuel and Pavel are nice, and nothing like what everyone is telling him Jews are like.
